Top Ten Surefire Signs That You Were Born To Be a Biker

A biker is born not made… of course not, well maybe, but it would be nice to think that being a biker is already in your genes when you were born. This would ease your conscience a lot when you have to leave the spouse and children behind so you can join your bike group on a weeklong biking journey somewhere up North or on a leisure weekend pedal down South.

To help bolster your belief that biking is in your blood, here are the top ten surefire signs that you were born to be a biker:

10.  The first words you said as a baby on your Mom’s arms were “ba…ba…ba...” as soon as you saw your Dad on the bike he owned when he was still a bachelor and you sort of instinctively guessed what it was for.

9.  Your Mom and Dad each own separately at least one mountain bike for weekend trail rides and one road bike for out of town weekend century rides.

8.  Your Dad’s bike is worth more than his car.

7.  At age five, you can name the top 5 bicycle brands around the word

6.  At age six you know what Schrader and Presta mean and more importantly, you can   tell the difference between the two.

5.  At age seven, your baon to school includes one energy gel because your Dad insisted on it.

4.  As a teenager ready to have a driver’s license, your parents insisted that before you get one, you go first on a solo bike ride to Tagaytay and back within the   day, the reason being they want you to prove to them that you are responsible   enough to drive car.

3.  Your parents named you Eddy, Lance, Hans, Gino, Miguel, Pedro, Cornelio, Arnel (or their female counterparts) and your nickname is Trek, Merida, Cannondale, Kona, Scott, Marin, GT or Giant.

2.  When at the very ripe age of four, you have already logged your first century ride with your Dad with you perched on the top tube or being towed behind on the   bike trailer.

And the top surefire sign that you were born a biker is:

1.  At age three, you already have three annual Tour of the Fireflies under your   belt (or saddle), having ridden with your Mom and Dad on each of those years   the Tour was held. And now that you are 17 years old, you are readying   yourself for your 17th Tour as you join the 17th Tour of the Fireflies coming   on November 20, 2016.
